RØDE has announced its new microphone system built to be compact and wireless keeping in mind the grab-and-go aspect, specially for filmmakers and content creators. An extension of its predecessor the Wireless ME, RØDE Wireless PRO claims improvements in its features, quality as well as versatility. In alignment with the rest of RØDE’s compact wireless range, the Wireless PRO also comes in the same pocket-size, with a new aesthetic black on black exterior to make it look discrete. Despite its compact size it comes with a dual-channel microphone system, with two transmitters and a receiver. It also has integrated within itself the Series IV 2.4GHz, RØDE’s very own state-of-the-art digital transmission system with 128-bit encryption that delivers clear and stable audio at distances up to 260m (850ft) in the line of sight. It is equipped with integrated clops and in-built broadcast quality omnidirectional microphones on the transmitters which considerably simplifies the setting up process. It is also universally compatible with cameras, smartphones, tablets, computers, and other audio devices via its analog 3.5mm TRS and digital USB-C outputs.

The Wireless PRO is also equipped with a 32-bit float on-board.

The Wireless PRO is also equipped with a range of features like the 32-bit float on-board recording that allows you to record directly into the transmitters without the audio clipping and 32GB worth of internal memory that lets one store over 40 hours worth of recording. The 32-bit float-on-board also ensures that you always have a clean backup of your session, including the ones from dynamic scenarios, thus eliminating the need to set gain levels prior to recording. Additionally, its internal timecode generator syncs audio in a quick and easy manner during post-production. It is also easy to use and set up.

The Wireless PRO’s diverse features makes it possible to record directly into your camera. The Intelligent GainAssist technology, continued from its predecessor the Wireless ME utilises  algorithms to automatically control audio levels on the fly, thus making for a smooth and balanced output, thus minimising the risk of clipping. It has a flexible output control with a gain range of 30dB, thus letting the user tailor the mic’s output to their camera. It also has pre-configured camera presets, making it convenient to use. The mic has also been equipped with a safety channel, for the sole purpose of outputting a second channel 10dB lower than the primary channel, thus protecting the camera input from clipping in case the signal is too hot.

It has also been equipped with a variety of professional features like 3.5mm locking lavalier connectors  that provide complete security while using an external lavalier or other microphones with a locking connector. The output on the receiver also functions as a headphone output for audio monitoring as well as an audio input for a headset or any other TRRS “microphone” for recording up to three audio channels simultaneously.

The microphone also manages to fit in features like merged and split recording modes, marker dropping and customisable buttons. It can also be easily configured on a computer or smartphone easily via the RØDE Central app.

Apart from all its in-built qualities, the Wireless PRO comes with a complete accessory kit, including a smart charge case, two Lavalier II microphones, cables, MagClip GO magnetic mounting clip and accessory case.

The RØDE Wireless PRO is now available for purchase.
